don't ever s twist wires together. in any level of current. depending on insulation size, it will create a hot spot. the best thing to do when in a tight spot, push together to barely touch and then use heat shrink temporarily

I've been using this for years in automotive wire repair. Use a heat gun. Once you use them, you'll never want to do any other way.

For non-tensioned wires, a good old crimp connector gets the job done (prob faster too)
