He did it differently. You need to lean back more you were using shoulders too much, need bigger weight probably so you can hold yourself back more! Insane biceps, wow! Love it!

My problem with cable bicep curls is that I can never seem to get a full extension at the bottom. I usually have to end up standing on a block which is weird because I'm 6'2.

You are doing it wrong. The Benefit of the v bar i to within the space between the ropes. This gives you a wider hammer curl👍

its a nice hack but not something to pump about. Too much set up and hugging the equipment. Just use the rope.
