@itssharrne: One thing I’m gonna do is bring awareness to things that I don’t think should be normalised. Plain and simple.

I work in a children's home and one of our boys hangs out with a girl (they're both 12) and a few weeks ago she was on the park with her cycle shorts up her butt and everything basically on show, her brother (17) came onto the park, guns blazing, and made her go instead and put some joggers on. And that boy did the right thing!

The fact that you’re having to do a follow up vid is exactly what’s wrong. It’s ridiculous

100% agree. Especially with things like meta glasses and people always videoing and taking photos you don’t know what will end up on someone else’s device and not even know it.

It's the fact they we've forgotten kids are KIDS and we have a duty to protect them as much as possible and that includes monitoring what they buy (age appropriate)/ how they dress

The clothing manufacturers aren't the ones who ultimately decide what children wear. Parents are the ones purchasing the clothes, so they have the final responsibility for what they choose to buy for their children. Manufacturers offer products, but parents decide which ones to bring into their homes.

I agree, I fight with my daughter all the time about the length of her skirt but I know the time she leaves the house and by the time she gets to the school gate she’s probably rolled it up and I make sure she wears cycling shorts underneath her skirt. It’s the biggest argument we have in our house in the morning. But I also think the retail industry needs to be held accountable. Growing up I had Tammy Girl clothes made for teenagers. Now it’s either kids clothes or adult clothes. Once you outgrow age 14–15 you’re pushed into adult fashion. Teenage girls deserve stylish age appropriate clothing too.
