📡 Wrapping your Wi-Fi router in tinfoil to block EMFs? ❌ BAD IDEA! Yes, aluminum foil can reflect radio frequency (RF) radiation...But if you don’t think it all the way through, you could make things worse for your health and home👇 ❌ 1st Problem: Reflection = Redirection. This means tinfoil doesn’t eliminate radio frequencies; it REFLECTS them! 👀 That means you could end up: ➡️ Concentrating the signal heavily in one direction by mistake, such as toward your own or your kid's bedroom. ➡️ Increase RF exposure and intensity somewhere else in your home (or even toward a nearby neighbor)... It's clear aluminum foil isn't removing those potentially harmful frequencies; it's redirecting them toward a potentially worse destination. ❌ 2nd Problem: A possible fire hazard. Routers are vented for a reason; they need airflow to "breathe" and maintain a functional temperature range to avoid overheating. Once you wrap those vents with tinfoil, you can end up trapping heat inside the router and increasing the risk of an electrical shortage or spark becoming a house fire. ❌ 3rd Problem: These WiFi routers are smart, and when you cover the antenna improperly, it will boost power, potentially causing more harm. So what SHOULD you do instead of aluminum foil wrappings? ✅ Place your router in a strategic location away from living spaces and bedrooms, like a basement ✅ Turn Wi-Fi off at night with a simple analog timer ✅ Turn Wi-Fi off and use direct Ethernet cables and connectors whenever possible ✅ Hardwire devices when you can, using shielded Ethernet cables And if you're in a smaller home, turn Wi-Fi off completely and run Ethernet for both faster internet speeds and far less risk of RF exposure.
