Couldn’t you just have shaved off some plastic on one side of the key? Think that would have worked

Or you can just scrap a bit of the key head instead of chopping it off completely

Ithink you could’ve cut small part from the plastic part. Or cut a new key if that keyhole isn’t programmed for a specific key.

Couldn’t you have just turned the actual key hole a little bit to accommodate the fit of the key. Just a thought

could you just make a dedicated key just for the seat? meaning no need to duplicate the immobilizer etc? feel like that's cheaper than cutting the stock key

Ummmm that has to be the dumbest way to fix such a small issue. To open the back you wouldn’t need the coded chip so you could just find any normal key cutter and copy your main key cut the non coded chip. Problem sorted

just so you know you can get a spare made without the chip just to open doors for way cheaper, can probably cut it and put on a multi tool or key smart so it's angled 90°

I'd just get a blank and cut that blanks are dirtcheap

You should be able secure the transponder chip to where the “reader” is located, so it always reads it. Then you just need to insert your key blade anytime and it’ll fire up. I did it on my car.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I ain’t the smartest guy in the world but I would’ve just shaved the plastic part or cut one side n still have somewhat of a whole key

Queen Saga I Targaryen :
uh Why didn't you just pry the plastic off the key instead of cutting it

if I were in ur place, i would have copied another one without a chip and trimmed it from the side so it could go in. and have both keys

Why not just cut a key for $5 at homedepot

Why not just replicate the key at Home Depot and cut that key rather than cutting a $400 key….
