The ending of the show proved that he loved cooking; he just did not want to be the main chef anymore because he could not differentiate the traumas he carried alongside the responsibilities he had to hold in the same light, hence why he chose Syd to take over instead. It's why he ended up going back to the bear at the end because that weight was off his shoulders and he was now in an environment where he does not need to spread chaos. One does not need to be a leader to be seen as good or great at what they do.

carmy tem o restaurante como a única coisa que liga ele ao irmão, ele teve ausente esse tempo todo se profissionalizando pra poder abrir o the bear com o irmão mas chegou tarde demais. o restaurante sempre vai ser uma sombra do mickey, algo sufocante que o carmy realmente precisava se sobressair.
