@miriamodt: Sharing my personal experience only ⬇️ (this covers February 2025 - February 2026) 💰 Savings Accounts = £1,414 I opened multiple high interest savings accounts, key word being multiple. Most high interest accounts have a monthly cap so splitting it helped me to maximise what I could earn. I looked for rates of 4.5% and above (ideally). I tried to choose accounts that restricted withdrawals or penalised me for taking money out because I know myself 😂 little dips here and there add up very quickly. I also made use of my ISA allowance. 🏦 LISA = £1,391.03 An amazing scheme which has helped massively with saving towards my deposit. The government gives you a 25% bonus on everything you save, up to £4,000 a year. So that’s up to £1,000 of FREE money every tax year just for saving + interest on those savings. If you’re able to, putting the full £4,000 at the start of the tax year will help you to benefit from compound interest more. Please do your own research as there are T&Cs with this so make sure it works for you. 📈 Investments = £5,511.05 My company offers buying shares through salary sacrifice & share matching, I put in £50-£75 a month. I completely forgot about it, randomly checked and saw I had a 119% increase within a year. If your company runs a similar scheme and you believe in where they’re going, it’s worth considering. Bear in mind you may not get the money back & I accepted that. Even if you don’t have a large amount of money to invest in one go, small & consistent investments can go a long way if it does well🥹.
