Thats not saying you should go out of your way and never make mistakes, rather treat everyone with the respect and kindness you believe you deserve, and if they dont return it, you will know its their own problem.

Being kind is important to me but being likable is not. I don’t care if people like me but I do care about being kind. I am not responsible for how others feel about me and I will not perform inauthentically to seem nice. I CAN control my kindness, but that does not mean I will be seen as likable. Being kind ≠ external likability
