The public education system is atrocious here. Went to private school until it became too expensive (I was a bad kid and got kicked out) and it was an INSANE shock to be learning basic sentence structure in my junior year of high school in one of the richest counties in America.

Dude, wow the amount of maga in your comments is upsetting. This is totally true you leave the U.S. and it’s not just intelligence it’s a the frame of mind is totally different. There’s less of a drive to accumulate as much as possible. People aren’t as stressed they have lives. They have stability, and aren’t under constant threat. This isn’t universally true for everywhere, but for large portions of the developed world it’s the way things are. safety nets for citizens, education (real education not curriculum designed to indoctrinate instead of teach), workers rights, unions, food you can actually eat without fear, regulations and laws to protect the people from the corporations, and a whole different view of society. People help each other, and have community not based on shopping at the same discount club store or being indoctrinated into a religion centered worshipping sky daddy
