There are many things I like about this place. It’s just a short walk from Yasaka Shrine, it’s much less crowded than some of Kyoto’s more famous spots, and it even has stunning night illuminations in spring and fall. ✨ There’s also a tea house where you can enjoy traditional Japanese tea and sweets. 🍵🍡 Finding hidden gems like this is one of my favorite parts of traveling. I still recommend Arayashima Bamboo Forest but go there around 4-5pm much emptier. Also recommend Kijurou for Wagyu beef 🥩 🤤

Went to Arashiyama and 100% true , still enjoyed the time in there. The Ryokan was incredible and went to a restaurant which the main dish was unagidon and was delicious also the nihonshu and umeshu i drank there were amazing ,but for me was an only one time experience overall.

I went early enough, but the food nearby was not it. I didn't like Kyoto because it felt like so much of it was touristy. Uji for the Hibike Euphonium pilgrimage was way better.
