WE LOVE BECHAMEL BABY 🫦 heres my recipe, so next time you make a homemade lasagne promise me you’ll skip the jar sauce and make your own!! 4 TBSP BUTTER 4 TBSP FLOUR 4 CUPS WHOLE MILK - start by melting your butter over a medium heat in a saucepan - Once the butter is melted and bubbly (not burning) add 4 tablespoons of flour and whisk to create a smooth paste - Cook this for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the flour to cook out - Turn the heat down to a low/medium heat and add one cup of milk at a time. Make sure that you whisk the milk constantly. If you have to stop mixing, make sure you take the pan off the heat to prevent the milk from burning on the bottom! - the 1st cup of milk will thicken rather quickly, once this happens add the next cup and continue to whisk and repeat until you have poured in all the milk. - the whisking can take some time. I like to do mine low and slow. About 10 to 15 minutes of whisking - once the mixture has thickened up take off the heat and season with salt and pepper and add cheese if preferred! - I like to add one cup of cheddar cheese to help with thickening up my bechamel sauce so its the right consistency to layer my lasagne (dont do this over the heat or it will split so make sure its not on the hob) You can also use the sauce and pour it over broccoli and cauliflower to make a delicious vegetable cheese bake as well! Just like grandma used to make 🥰 enjoy xx #bechamel #bechamelsauce #lasagna #homecooked #sauce #EasyRecipe #cheesesauce
