@chaplinfamilylifeinspain: How Locals Survive A Spanish Heatwave If you’re in Spain right now, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about… it’s HOT. 🥵 After a couple of years living here, we’ve learnt that surviving a Spanish heatwave isn’t about carrying on as normal. You adapt. ☀️ Get out early in the morning. 🌡️ Stay indoors during the hottest part of the afternoon. 🌅 Head back outside once the sun starts to drop. 💧 Drink far more water than you think you need. 🏖️ If you’re going to the beach, go early. 🧢 Wear a hat and don’t underestimate the sun. 🛒 Plan errands for the morning or evening whenever you can. By August, this rhythm becomes completely normal. It’s one of the biggest adjustments when you move to Spain, but once you embrace it, you realise why so much of life here happens after 8pm.
