PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!! We do this with a group of friends at least once a year. Hear me out!!! We were all in PCB, FL about 5 years ago & we ended up in quite an unforgettable adventure to say the least. Make sure they fill the boat up with gas. Don’t assume. We didn’t realize before it until we were a ways out, we ran out & were drifting towards the open sea, almost into a barge, & almost into rocks jetties. It was terrifying. We called the rental place. They sent a girl with another pontoon & she was trying to pull us. It wasn’t strong enough, but was keeping us stabilized. Finally a guy came with a speed boat & towed us. I was not driving a couple guys in our group were, but I was the one who paid for the rental. When we got back to shore the company was apologizing profusely, gave me my money back & offered another day of a boat rental for free. We learned a lesson that day 😅😅😅😅. Do not assume they checked all their boxes (we are all human), check that gas gauge. Needless to say none of us will ever forget that one. People can say “Why didn’t you guys check???”. Honestly, it was early in the morning (we all drank the night before 😅), we were all excited to get out making sure we had all our things & supplies, we rented boats all over the country probably like 10 times & never had a problem. So please y’all check it first!!!
