The biggest issue with these budget things is they never give any breakdowns on how that 2 billion was spent. For all we know half of that was just licensing music or something (hyperbole). Like Invincible costs tons of money each season but the animation doesn’t get all of that budget because they have a lot of high profile celebrities voicing characters, which eats up that budget

We have all seen Skull and Bones, money spent making a game doesn't mean shit. I heard a few years ago some of the writing team left after red dead 2 so I am kinda worried about the story because so far it doesn't interest me compared to 5 story

I feel like people that still pre order games like that never saw or forgot what happened with Cyberpunk.. it's literally the same shit happening again.. also if you have to pay 2 billions on a game you definitely fucked up a few times too often

it depends on how you look at it, the development team for the game have been said to be 6000 people. and if you pay all those people 40k per year for 6 years it's 1.4 billion. even if they haven't had that many people all the time working on it it can still be easy to reach those numbers simply with the fact that if you take into account for pre production and planning the game have been in development for 10-12 years and only been going full speed for the last 6 years.

If I am not mistaken no actual budget was given and I wouldnt believe any rumor as the games isnt out yet so marketing is still on going. I think that one of the reasons it could cost that much is also the amount of pwople they have to pay, usually a triple AAA game takes like 4/5 years to make with 200 to 400 people. This game took at least 8 years with thousands of people. What I dont understand is why they have such a horrible marketing so far,like I know the game is going to sell regardless, but the first trailer came out more than 3 years ago,the second one more than 1 year ago, and instead of giving us a third trailer or gameplay they show the cover art and expect us to preorder an only digital game(which many did) like What is going on?

fun fact it's their problem if it's cost 2 billions they could make 3 games 500 millions instead of "a big game" that is solo only, everybody won't talk about it month later just like red dead 2 all of this 2 billions just to have things in the game that 0.0012% will eventually use because most of it are in fact useless too and all of that just to be the same gameplay as gta 5? oh sorry gta 4 and san andreas too?
