@saharramm: DaVita Dialysis centers have publicly disclosed settlements totaling well over $1 billion. Yet they still operate. I haven’t been able to reply to every story that has been shared by employees or patients that have felt abused, neglected, or terrified by how DaVita dialysis clinics operate. I am reading all of your stories and it’s shed light about so many issues that DaVita… a for profit dialysis clinic, has already been found in multiple lawsuits and settlement’s for. I am not surprised the US has allowed for such a broken system to continue placing profits over patients. A lot more needs to be done and I have so many goals ahead to protect such vulnerable patients. As an emergency medicine doctor who constantly cares for underserved and chronically ill patients… you deserve better and this deserves the right advocates. I am an FA for a Davita clinic . And I ran my clinic like those patients are my family . My docs are amazing they round like 3-4 times a week . I’m always on the floor with my folks . So all Davitas are not the same

There are definitely good nephrologists out there, but in my experience, they’re rare. Too many patients get rushed, surface-level interactions where the provider barely checks in before moving on. I know nephrologists are overloaded, but when you’re caring for dialysis patients, that lack of attention can feel scary and dismissive. Patients deserve real rounding, real follow-up, and a doctor who actually sees them as a person, not just another name on the list.

I am actually, after hearing the recent DeVita story out of Detroit, posting them on TikTok because our democratic nominee for California governor proudly takes donations from Devita. There will be no good changes to healthcare if they keep buddying up with these bad companies.

Your dad is very lucky to have you! All davita are very different from each other. (I’m a tech) I have worked all lot of different ones it really does depend on the management and if these nurses and tech are following protocol and policies. Some of these clinics just want to get patients in and out. Our clinic has been talking about this and what could have happened.

Thank you everyone, for an update and some information on what happened, I have been recommended to get a watchman, its been so hard on me mentally that after many years doing everything to get listed for a kidney transplant last month of May at Henry Ford Health, I will be on hold until then. I have been having a hard time doing the littlist shores since the incident. I can’t go up a flight if stairs without stopping. And still have to find a way to open the food truck to be able to keep up with bills, but when working I keep praying that I don’t get swarmed by orders that will require a faster base than I can put in. I really need to rest but life requirements won’t. Thank you Sahar for advocating and may God bless you all.
