I am old (78) and have experienced lots of life-I was a physician taking care of very sick and dying patients which made me question life and faith; I was sad and depressed much of the time. I went through many personal "executions" and questioned why for me and them. I was divorced twice and was very hurt by my second divorce from someone I didn't think I could live without: I had serious cancer with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy and had heart valve replacement, heart attack with stents, severe diabetes, stroke, many other illnesses with hospitalizations, etc- only to wander "why" do I and my patients suffer so much-why don't we just die instead of surviving to reflect on life and purpose and meaning- I was a Christian and believed in God's sovereignty but could not justify why such sufferingelieved in ;
