100% in agreement, but her call out about "feeding your family on $174 a month" is incorrect. That is the average per individual, so a family of 4 would get almost $700 a month which is a lot.

I get $14 because the amount I pay for rent doesn’t count dollar for dollar so from the standpoint of the snap specialist I still have most of my money in my account although in most months I can’t make ends meet so I utilize food banks and other programs in my area.

I went on SNAP for 6 months. I cried when I had to use it. I was a single mom with a 4 year old. I bought bulk food, meal planned, and applied for 3-5 jobs a day until I could get back on my feet. I am so grateful for that bridge. Once in my life I needed it. The rest of my life I work to pay taxes to pay for others who need that help. Don’t cut SNAP.

I was getting $184. Got that for six months. Now I am to get $24/ mo because even tho I’m a disabled senior, I apparently don’t need to eat anymore.
