I think you could argue that the big hand when it hits bam might be the biggest single comedic moment in any movie ever.

Sociology nerd here and comparing Jackass to Seven Up is one of the most profound and accurate things I’ve ever heard and I’m so happy someone thought of it

The reason Jackass works is because they love each other deeply and fiercely. If they didn’t love each other it would just be Punk’d I guess? But that’s why I love it. Yeah it’s funny, but they love each other so much.

There is a point in the 3rd or 4th movie where Johnny takes a moment before a stunt sighs and comments about how old he is and for me it was that point where jackass moved into the "documentary" category.

Jackass premiered when I was in middle school. I’m 39 years old now. I was a child and now I’m approaching middle age. These movies will always be my comfort show.

I love this take on Jackass. The first time I saw Jackass I was a young teenager and it was actually the pilot with Johnny Knoxville. I was hooked instantly! Over the years I kept enjoying their stuff and I grew up with them. They were like friend but we didn't actually knew each other. We both went through ups and downs, grew, celebrated, mourned. All of it. I even re-enacted some stunt because I wanted to join them. Like many teenagers wanted I imagine. I'm so proud of all of them and what they have achieved and become. I will really miss those guys. My friends from over the pond 🥲

Love to see a re-edited version of the films, viewed as a character driven documentary series

It really is, in its own right, a documentary series. the fact that they teared up about how this was THE LAST made it that much more emotionally engaging then I think they anticipated 20 years ago

I need a complete Jackass criterion release. Tv show, movies, and side shows (wild boyz, viva la bam, etc)

There was something about Ryan putting a tiny car inside himself and waddling into a x-ray tech’s office that made me realize Jackass was different than all the other prank shows 😂

I was rewatching Jackass Forever the other day and we were noticing how more time was spent with the guys laughing and hugging and clapping each other on the backs than the pranks/stunts themselves actually took during each segment. And we loved it. There is so much context and if you’ve been following forever, you as a fan enjoy these moments too because you know the story. This is a great review.

The fact that we’ve reached the point in millennial history where Jackass has become art makes me feel a type of way. 😌 (not saying this as an insult to the series. I fully support this review. It’s just got me feeling real old and in my feelings.)
