The Central Park zoo is AZA accredited. Responsible zoos do SO much for education and conservation. The animals in zoos save thousands of animals in the wild. Think of them as representatives from the wild who live much cushier lives.

Sign up for a card at your local library and look into the Culture Pass program. Lots of museums to see for free with it and botanical gardens

My daughter also is skeptical of zoos. We found out zoos that have AZA or WAZA accreditation are held to stricter standards. It’s never a guarantee but it is a good way to feel a little better about it.

I used to feel some way about zoos but then I realized that they help restore so many endangered species and help rehabilitate injured animals.

I love walking through Central Park when I go to NYC. You should visit Belvedere Castle sometime if you haven’t already. Cool structure and pretty views.

Ummmmm anytime I go to a zoo I instantly become a kid, so of course I would also love the children’s zoo. Tell that staff member to have several seats 😂

So the next time you go, you need to go to Strawberry Fields where there is a mosaic of “Imagine” and if you walk out the park, there’s the Dakota where John Lennon lived. Also, in the park there’s a really cool Alice in Wonderland statue. And don’t forget the carousel.

That little archway that you walk through to get to the children’s zoo. Every hour there is a really precious moment- music and the animal statues move! Try to catch it next time.
