While I personally purchase ISBNs, you can actually just use the free one Amazon provides and the free one Ingram provides and just combine versions on Goodreads easily. Multiple ISBNs can be under one Goodreads listing, the same way you would combine them for hardcover and special edition versions of the same book.

FYI if you're in Canada 🇨🇦 your ISBNs are free, you just have to register for them. DON'T go buy them!

I published my book directly on Ingramspark because some one said that was the best to do. It wasn’t too expensive for me to self-publish that way

So... In Canada, you get ISBNs for free. It says you wait around 30 days for your login and ISBNs. I applied for it back at the end of March so I'd have them for my release in May. I recieved the email end of LAST WEEK 😳 So, if you're looking to get ISBNs in Canada... Do it 6 months out... 😏

I bought the isbn for my paperback, used it for Amazon first and then tried it on Ingram and it absolutely will not allow me to use it despite owning the isbn with it being the same paperback and that has been a horrible battle I haven’t won in 2 years despite talking to customer service on both sides 🙃
