I'm a huge dog lover and my dog is so important to me but at the end of the day he's a dog and he's not allowed to go shopping or out to eat. This dog obsession has gotten out of hand.

my son is afraid of dogs and im allergies to them, we told a friend who loves bringing her dog everywhere that she couldn't bring her dog to our house for a BBQ, she brought her dog anyways and told me that my son is going to have to get over his fear and I can take some allergies medicine, mind you she walked into the house with the dog and just sat on my couch like it was her house, we are no longer friends

It’s so unsanitary. Some people are allergic, and that should be enough for people to respect. I call corporate each time I go into any store that sales food. Hopefully they receive enough calls that they reinforce no pet policy again

I remember the 80's and 90s never seeing a pet anywhere in public... only like a seeing eye dog. I wish we could do that again.

I work in a vet and we love animals, there isn't anything we wouldn't do to save and help animals but what people are doing in restaurants, dunkin' donuts, Starbucks and supermarkets are ridiculous! if they are not service dogs they belong home!

Yeah about 90% of the time it is not a service animal and ESA do not count. People have allergies, and it’s gross at a grocery store.

It’s interesting how quickly some people are willing to judge or exclude others when history has shown us what it feels like to be judged, stereotyped, and told where we do and don’t belong. If you’ve spent your life asking others to see you as an individual instead of a stereotype, why not extend that same grace to others? A legitimate service dog isn’t a fashion accessory or someone’s pet on a shopping trip. It’s medical equipment that gives someone independence and safety. You don’t know what battle that person is fighting just by looking at them. As for hygiene—people touch produce after coughing, sneezing, using the restroom, and handling countless other things. That’s why we wash our fruits and vegetables before eating them. Singling out a trained service dog while ignoring everything else that comes into a grocery store misses the bigger picture. A little empathy costs nothing. Mind your business unless someone’s actions are actually harming you.
