It’s not even that it’s written well, people just simply like Silco as a character so naturally they ignore any wrongdoings. Which includes what he did to Jinx. He “saved” her just to ruin her.

I can’t believe so many people think Silco was a good father. He was terrible for Jinx. He projected his own trauma onto her, made her believe he was the only person who would ever love her, and convinced her she had to be Jinx, not Powder that she had to become who he wanted her to be. He did love Jinx, but he was not a good father.

That’s what i love about arcane’s writing. So many character traits and actions are so realistic. Of course silco cared for her but it wasn’t healthy love. For 7 years, he manipulated and used her. Even in the end, he was preparing her to practically start a war and be his perfect weapon

We can tell from the moment Jinx always prioritized Vander over Silco, even after they were both dead. Like the gesture she made of smelling and touching Vander's old jacket instead of Silco's. Why would she do that if Silco was the one who had newly lost? Because he never stopped being her true father in her eyes, the one who truly made her feel safe.

It felt pretty obvious to me—take the scene where Jinx is explaining to Silco why the mission failed (she’s clearly sad, frustrated, and feeling useless, plus she’s thinking about Vi), and the way Silco "comforts" her is by bringing up the betrayal all over again and emotionally manipulating her; he didn't comfort her at all! The worst part was the scene where Jinx went to talk to him about how he’d lied about Vi—specifically the end, when that cynical bastard tells her she needs to finish the weapon ( fuckin well-written character 🙄🖕).
