Orange Ginger White Tea 1 tablespoon white tea 3 slices sweetened dried orange slices (from Trader Joe’s) 3 cubes of frozen crushed ginger cubes (from Trader Joe’s) 2 cups water Boil water and set the water temperature to 175 degrees fahrenheit if you have an electric kettle or water boiler. Put 1 white tea, orange, and ginger into a tea pot and add the hot water. Cover and steep for 3 minutes. Strain and pour hot tea into a cup. — I’m a Tea Sommelier and this is week 4 of my hot tea series where I make a new hot tea blend every week this winter. This is an Orange Ginger White Tea. To create this blend, I’m using my hot tea formula of 1 tea, 1 fruit, and 1 spice or botanical. I’m using white tea as my tea, sweetened dried orange as my fruit, and frozen crushed ginger as my spice. I got the orange slices and ginger from Trader Joe’s. I tried it with black tea but I found the white tea was a lot more balanced with the orange and ginger flavors. Out of all teas, white tea is the least processed tea so it’s the most delicate, which means you shouldn’t use boiling hot water. I’m using water that’s set to 175 degrees fahrenheit. Cover the teapot and steep. The steep time is also important to make sure you don’t have bitter tea and for white tea, I steep it for 3 minutes. Using boiling hot water or steeping for too long can make the tea bitter. Strain the solids and pour the hot tea into a cup. Feel free to add the orange slices to your cup. #teatime #tea #tearecipe #hottea #teasommelier
