The last month with Zoey has been nothing short of unimaginable. It started with two seizures and an admission that we had to fight hard to get in the first place. What followed was something none of us expected—emergency brain surgery, sedation, and intubation. After spending two weeks in the hospital recovering from brain surgery, we thought we were finally headed in the right direction. Instead, we ended up back in the ER twice more. Then, on our third ER visit, just three days before Zoey was scheduled to receive chemo, we learned that her lung had collapsed. Since then, Zoey has had chest tubes placed, been on high-flow oxygen, received chemotherapy in the PICU, fought her way off high-flow oxygen, had another chest tube placed, and now we are anxiously waiting for the day we can finally take our sweet girl home. Yesterday, Zoey underwent another surgery to place a new drain piece for her lung, and we are so thankful to share that she is recovering well. We are praying this procedure helps move us one step closer to bringing our girl home. This past month has been absolutely insane. There were moments that felt impossible, moments filled with fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. But through it all, God has been faithful. I truly believe that if I hadn’t fought so hard for her, with the Lord guiding and strengthening me every step of the way, Zoey likely would be with Jesus today. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, checked in, supported us, and carried us when we couldn’t carry ourselves. Please continue praying for complete healing, strength, and that we can bring our girl home soon. One day at a time. God is still writing Zoey’s story. ❤️
