girl YES, my mom always explained the "why" or the reasoning for why I couldn't do things or why I got the consequence I got for whatever I did do, and honestly I acted up wayyyy less than most kids 😂 and it showed as a teenager, we rarely fought when she said no to stuff bc I knew after she said no, that she'd explain why if I wanted to know instead of jumping straight to screaming at me, saying "bc I said so", or acting like I was a bad kid for asking for something or doing something I wasn't supposed to
