Monsurat Omidina, popularly known as Omoladun Kenkelewu, was a veteran Nigerian Yoruba actress and comedienne who became famous in the Yoruba movie industry for her humorous roles and energetic acting style. She was regarded as one of the pioneering female comedians in Yoruba Nollywood. She began acting around 1981–1982 after joining a theatre group led by Okanlawon. Before becoming an actress, she sold amala (a Yoruba dish), which she once described as part of her family background. The nickname “Kenkelewu” became attached to her name after she acted in the Yoruba film Oko Yoyo. Her comic performances and unique delivery quickly made her popular among Yoruba movie audiences. Omoladun was married to Babatunde Omidina, widely known as Baba Suwe. The couple became one of the most recognized comedy pairs in Yoruba cinema, often appearing together in movies and stage performances. She appeared in several Yoruba productions and was admired for portraying relatable family and market-woman characters with humor and realism. Omoladun Kenkelewu passed away in 2009 after health complications. Her death deeply affected Baba Suwe and the Yoruba entertainment industry.
