I had a washer hookup installed in my basement to use an all-in-one W/D down there. It only took a couple hours for them to install it. Would be nice if the builder takes care of it for you, but absolutely is an easy fix to have a plumber do at some point. The drywall repair will be the most annoying part of it, since that’s multi-step.
