Vergil slashing at Dante’s hand at the end of this fight when he reaches out to him denying his brother when he needs him the most just to later slash at that same extended hand when Vergil was the one who needed saving really shows Vergils mentality where he views strength as something that is individual and you yourself need to possess to be powerful and that relying on others makes you weak and that is the main reason as to why he rejects Dante while Dante is strong by himself while also bonding with others and relying on the others around him showing that vergils thinking is flawed. These two brothers have some of the most amazingly written conflicts and parallels i think I’ve ever seen come from a game and seeing the state of the franchise today is truly depressing with no new announcements other than the horrible Netflix adaptation
