While I have only watched this clip and not the entire sermon, this pastor doesn’t seem to be in the wrong to me. He does not say anything about giving money to his ministry specifically. If he was continuously asking for money for his own ministry and abusing that money, that would be a different story. Numerous times the Bible states that God will bless those who give generously, so the speaker’s sentiment that we would be thankful for his encouragement to give for the sake of the Kingdom rather than spending it on ourselves makes sense to me. There is an eternal reward for cheerful giving here on earth, as God wants to bless us because He loves us!
