@kinoman_otaku: The map shows the level of Central Asian genetic admixture among the modern population of Turkey by province. The data reflect the genetic legacy of the migrations of Turkic peoples from Central Asia into Anatolia, which began in the 11th century. Main findings from the map: Highest levels (10-15%): Found primarily in southwestern and some western Anatolian provinces (such as Muğla, Antalya, Burdur, Denizli, and Aydın), as well as in certain northern areas (e.g., Bolu). This is associated with the historical settlement and high concentration of nomadic Turkic groups (Turkmens/Yörüks) in these regions. Moderate levels (5-10%): Characteristic of most of Central and Northwestern Anatolia. The genetic structure in these areas reflects a moderate blend of Central Asian ancestry with the indigenous Byzantine/Anatolian population. Lowest levels (0-5%): Recorded in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, as well as in some Black Sea coastal provinces (such as Rize and Trabzon). The lower percentages in these regions are commonly attributed to the greater persistence of other local populations (including Kurds, Armenians, Laz, and Assyrians), who experienced less genetic admixture with the incoming Turkic groups. #anatolia #anatolianturks #turkishdna #turkishgenetics

mehmet :
source? recent genetic testing shows that medieval Turks were mixed and that the 5-15% figure refers to east asian ancestry, while Turks were originally 40-50% east asian
