also losing a parent at 50 is different than losing a parent as a child

Hot take, dying at 50 is also very different than dying at 89. 50 is still very young

“Why are we comparing?” Because I shouldn’t had gotten “I understand my gramma died” as a response to my 20 month old passing. Grief can be different and both equally valid.

I also think passing away at 89 and 65 are completely different as well

I'm personally very prepared for my grandparents (late 60s) to pass. I was not prepared for my best friend to pass less than a week after he turned 17. these things are indeed different

my grandma died in her 90s we knew it was coming soon, no one expects a 20yr old to die

in the same way that losing a parent at a young age is very different than losing a grandparent

Also to add: a grown adult losing their elderly dad is NOT the same or comparable to me losing my dad at 21 due to cancer.

“Comparing greif” she didn’t compare greif, she’s saying that one of them got to live a whole life where as the other only got to live a portion of one. There is not a single point in the video where she talks about greif

i'm sorry but a grandparent dying is not even remotely close to what it's like to lose a parent in your 20s or younger
