I feel this - but also am surprised by the comment “no one that matters to me has ever wished for me to be smaller..” when I think about it, it’s the first time I realise this is true. Maybe turning 50 is going to be the gift that people promised.. maybe this is the first step to realising that this body of mine has made two whole humans and walked me through this amazing life. Maybe I will properly be able to celebrate that I am larger than life and that’s ok!

I listen to this and I realise that some of those who loved me, loved me more when I'm smaller. People like my own mother😭 I've lost 46 pounds and still she says you can lose another 46 when I said I only want to lose another 20 pounds

whilst having a shower the other day with my son in tow as ye know zero privacy 😅 he asked me "mammy why does your belly stick out even though your shrinking ". I said "im shrinking?", he replied "yes your face looks smaller and has a v chin, your arms and legs dont fit your clothes but your belly wiggles". I told him our bodies change all the time, different shapes and sizes at different times in our lives but my belly will always be the same and I love it with all my heart because thats where I grew my 4 babies. mammy's belly is magical like all mammy's bellies and were so lucky to have a reminder of how wonderful it was to grow you. its the first time in 20years ive been happy in my skin and it feels amazing to not want to be smaller anymore
