hospital parking lots are best, people spend nights in their car, and waiting rooms there's surveillance but they aren't running you off because they figure you are there for someone who is hospitalized. there's free coffee, snacks, restrooms, tvs, and if you're slick there are showers

I be stayed at bow hill rest area and Smokey point rest area just south of Bellingham, a few times and have never felt unsafe. I’ve also stayed at tulalip resort parking lot. For an overnight these are all good options and I felt safe.

I’ve found a few rest areas that were safe to stay at and they’re gorgeous. They have the semi area completely separate. Not that people can’t walk around but it’s not like some where they’re right behind you.

It really depends! I’ve slept at many a rest stops and felt safe, I don’t hang around outside my van though in that situation. Sleeping only really. But also a van is obv different than a car too

Rest stops are not safe for women. My mother was a truck driver for over 16 years and my uncle was a truck driver for 25 years. They have seen horrific things in rest stops and truck stops. My mom retired in 2020 at the age of 60.
