I need to point out that Susan is also the eldest daughter. it's very likely that the reason she stopped believing in the magic is because she had to grow up faster than her siblings. especially after living through ww2, she was the difacto parent to her siblings. my heart breaks for her 😭

she always seemed a little unkind to me. i imagine she tried to convince the others that they were just pretending all along, and they tried to include her, but in the end she was just disgusted by their childishness.

I like to think that the extreme loss Susan went through brought her back to her faith. That it was the trigger she needed to eventually reopen her eyes and heart and eventually reunite her with everyone.

Ngl, I like imagine that Susan grew up to be the mother of Wendy. And told her stories and gave Wendy the idea not needing to grow up too fast but that eventually she will one day grow up and stop believing in fairy tales. It’s only my imagination though I know the historical context in TlwnW are nearly after the story of Peter Pan but it’s a comfortable dream

C.S. Lewis wrote letters saying that Susan wasn’t permanently damned and could have redemption. She was alive in the end in our world and had chosen not to believe anymore. She didn’t die with the rest of the family and she could still make it to Aslan’s country one day if she chose to remember and become a friend of Narnia again.
