I never get the unhygienic argument tbh, like the last time my armpits were fully shaven like bald they stunk more than they did with hair, same routine with hygiene n everything.

If it was unhygienic, it should be standard practice for both. Brushing your teeth is unhygienic. We still both need to brush our teeth if my hair is unhygienic so is yours.

armpit hair exists for a reason. the extra surface area of the hair helps sweat evaporate faster. that's why when you shave your armpits feel so swampy and slimy. i literally never get BO anymore after i stopped shaving my armpits.

I kind of disagree. You definitely do not have to shave body hair for hygienic reasons, BUT it can make hygiene easier. So I wouldn’t say we were lied about it helping with hygiene, but we were lied about body hair being unhygienic. It’s a very small detail in how we say things, but it makes a big difference to stop shaming women whether they decide to shave or not.

it never made sense to me because we lose a lot of heat and sweat a lot through our head/scalp yet nobody is going around saying we all should shave our head bc it’s unhygienic because WE SHOWER :)

I have actually found that my armpits were the same/less stinky with hair. I think it helped the sweat stay off the skin

Ok so just because YOU don’t feel overstimulated with hair doesn’t mean others don’t. And yes I have shaved my head before, multiple times. I want to keep it long now as personal preference but hair can be overwhelming

Personally I smell worse when my armpits are hairy, and everyone I’ve known that has had bushy armpits smell bad as well. I think it’s cause the deodorant can’t reach to the skin as well. I think everyone should shave. Also I get really itchy when it’s grown

I shave downstairs bc I find it easier to manage my period. First time I wore a pad I didn’t know how to use it and it got stuck to my hair. The mess and pain has me shaving once a month. But aside from that I agree
