I feel like nowadays a lot of ppl compare Leia to anakin and luke to padme which is a really nice take considering their personalities but I think even though anakin and Leia are alike in their fierceness and bravery, they are too alike to understand each other especially in this timeline where anakin didn't get to raise her. luke, however, being the mirror of padme would understand anakin and feel a pull towards him precisely because he has the qualities of his mother, being kind hearted and open minded. and just like that leia would have liked spending time with her mother more not just because they are both brought up as politicians, but because Leia would remind padme of anakin and would be able to calm and guide her (maybe fixing the mistakes she made with anakin at first)
