Fiona was discharged after spending 3 nights in the hospital. She still has diarrhea, but it's at a much more manageable level, and she can control her bowel movements which is a really big improvement. The doctors said it will still take a couple days at home for her diarrhea to firm up. The doctors felt comfortable discharging Fiona after her Albumin levels reached 2.5. This is considered

This is considered "normal", so they just want us to now treat her remaining symptoms at home. Thank you to the wonderful team at @vegerforpets for caring for our girl. I don't know what I would've done if I couldn't come in to visit with her multiple times a day, and they were so incredibly accommodating to us. Thank you to everyone that emailed, commented, and messaged us. She's comfy at home, Hammy's respecting that she can't fully play and run around yet, and we're hoping to get her back to her normal self very soon. If there are any words of wisdom we can share, it's to please look into a pet insurance policy for your pet. Again, this blindsided us and turned our Labor Day weekend into a very stressful 5 days. Fiona's vet bills totaled $10,000 and we would never want a pet parent to be put into a financial situation where costs have to stand in the way of getting your baby care.
