everywhere you go you must keep it in perfect condition no matter what no matter who you fly with or where you go. you can literally cop fines/ be detained and arrested. I would thank the person who stopped you boarding the plane. I'd be thanking them if I was in that situation because the outcome is worse if they had let you. I get it seems like nothing but consequences can be heavy depending on where you arrive at.
they saved you 💖💖💖💖

I landed in Bali on Monday and no one looked at my passport, I went straight through the egates. They might be right in saying the gates may not read your passport with that mark though. Good luck getting a new one asap! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I paid for a fast track passport last year (i.e. the 5 day option, not the priority 2 day option) and it was ready for collection literally the next day, fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

Brisbane passport office totally incompetent. 3 members of my family recently became Australian citizens and applied for Australian passports. My wife’s passport arrived with the wrong birth location even after submitting her birth certificate. We were all travelling overseas for a special occasion. Made the passport office aware of travel dates. Submitted applications 5 weeks before travel. Sister inlaw received hers 5 days before travel our niece received hers 2 weeks after we arrived home. So my sister inlaw and niece couldn’t travel so lost all money for flights and accommodation.

This 100% happened to my best mate and she had to get an emergency one done cause there was a tiny rip in it. Pretty sure it took her 24 hours or something but just have to plead and hope you get someone good at the passport office 🤞🏽

My mum went from Perth - Singapore - Koh So Mui, she got denied at Koh Su Mui due to a tiny rip / hole in her passport. She had to stay the night detained, then got sent back to Singapore whilst her new airport got finalised (it took 2 days) how frustrating ! But better to be at home then be detained I supposed 😣 good luck !

if its a newer passport where the page with the dot is the hard plastic one, you can try nail polish remover to get if off. I've done it on mine where there were pen like marks and it came off and was cleared to go.

The same thing happened to me! Turned me away from my flight telling me I would be detained in Bali. Went through all the stress of getting a new one only to get to Bali and not have a single person check my PP cos it’s all egates. It’s so cooked.
