Here are five ideals every altar server should cultivate. ✝️ 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 An altar server should always show profound respect for God, the sacred liturgy, and the holy things of the Church. ✝️ Reverence is expressed through proper posture and attentiveness. ✝️ Reverence is shown in silence and prayerfulness. ✝️ Reverence reminds us that we stand before the Lord. ✝️ 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 Serving well requires commitment, obedience, and self-control. ✝️ Arrive prepared and on time. ✝️ Follow instructions carefully. ✝️ Perform every duty with precision and care. ✝️ 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗨𝗠 The sanctuary is not a place for distraction or casual behavior. ✝️ Maintain proper conduct at all times. ✝️ Avoid unnecessary conversation. ✝️ Carry out duties with dignity and composure. ✝️ 𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗬 An altar server is not merely performing tasks but participating in worship. ✝️ Pray before and after Mass. ✝️ Foster a love for the Eucharist. ✝️ Allow service at the altar to deepen your relationship with Christ. ✝️ 𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗔𝗥 Altar servers serve together as a fraternity united in a common mission. ✝️ Support and encourage one another. ✝️ Work together with charity and respect. ✝️ Remember that every server contributes to the beauty of the liturgy. ✝️ 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗪𝗘 𝗗𝗢 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬? ✝️ Serve every Mass with greater reverence. ✝️ Practice discipline in both service and daily life. ✝️ Maintain proper decorum within the sanctuary. ✝️ Grow in prayer and devotion to the Eucharist. ✝️ Treat fellow servers as brothers in Christ. ✝️ Remember that serving at the altar is both a privilege and a responsibility. ✝️ 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 An altar server is called not only to assist at the liturgy but also to be an example of faith, reverence, and devotion.
