I literally cannot take a shot in one solid motion like everyone else- I’ve gotta hold it in my mouth and it takes about 2 full swallows to get a standard shot glass of liquid down 😭

Same, girl. I have hEDS with every imaginable comorbidity. I swallow this way but I think it’s related to my esophageal dysmotility.

I piecemeal swallow. I had an esophagram to check for a hiatal hernia before bariatric surgery, and happened to discover I have esophageal dysmotility, so that's probably why. But I can also swallow a full shot if I try.

I do this too with drinking anything. I even chew ice cream and swallow it in bits. People always asked why... I never could figure out how not to do it.
