I think that in the TV show is also said at some point. I don’t remember who (Lawrence? Emily? Serena? June?), but I remember hearing it. Like, the problem was actually men.

The handmaids tale & the testaments just show how in the real world. the woman has always been blamed for infertility or low fertility. history has shown this. its a man's pride plain and simple. Men can't fathom that they are the issue. nor will they accept that they are the issue. BTW I am a male. albeit a homosexual one. lol🤔

It’s a good intentional thing to include, because it shows that if the primary concern really was the children and all the bad things they had to do are because those are “evidence based” ways to produce more children… It all falls apart when they don’t address the male portion of the infertility crisis
