He is an Apostle—a human who sacrificed what they cherished most in exchange for monstrous power—but unlike many Apostles who indulge in cruelty or excess, Zodd is defined almost entirely by one obsession: finding worthy opponents. His existence revolves around battle, and every decision he makes is influenced by his relentless search for someone capable of defeating him. In his humanoid form, Zodd towers over virtually every other character. He is a colossal warrior standing well over eight feet tall, with a massively muscular physique built through centuries of combat. His skin is weathered and scarred, evidence of countless battles that would have killed ordinary men many times over. His face is rugged and intimidating, framed by an enormous wild mane of dark hair that falls around his shoulders. Thick eyebrows shadow piercing eyes that seem to carry centuries of experience and bloodshed. His sharp, beast-like teeth are often visible even when he is expressionless, giving him a permanently predatory appearance. One of his most recognizable features is his pair of enormous curved horns, which protrude from either side of his forehead. These horns are present even while in his humanoid state, making it impossible to mistake him for a normal human. Combined with his towering height and broad shoulders, they create an almost mythical silhouette—a warrior who appears more like an ancient demon than a man. Zodd typically wears heavy, dark armor scarred by endless warfare. The armor is practical rather than ornate, designed to survive brutal combat instead of displaying wealth or status. Draped across his body is a tattered fur cloak or mantle, emphasizing his primal nature. His weapon of choice changes throughout the story, but he favors oversized swords capable of cleaving through armored soldiers with ease. Even without weapons, however, his immense physical strength allows him to rip enemies apart barehanded. His true Apostle form is even more terrifying. Transforming into a gigantic beast, Zodd becomes a fusion of several fearsome creatures. His body grows vastly larger, covered in thick fur and layers of muscle. His face elongates into a monstrous muzzle lined with massive fangs. Two gigantic horns curve upward from his skull, larger than those in his humanoid form. Enormous bat-like wings sprout from his back, granting him flight despite his immense size. His hands become massive claws capable of shredding steel armor as though it were cloth, while his legs resemble those of a powerful beast built for explosive speed and devastating leaps. Despite his monstrous appearance, Zodd possesses remarkable intelligence. He is neither mindless nor driven solely by hunger. Instead, he behaves according to a strict personal code centered on strength and honor in battle. He despises weakness but deeply respects courage, determination, and skill. When he encounters an opponent worthy of admiration, he acknowledges them without hesitation, even if they are technically his enemies. His personality is surprisingly calm outside of combat. He rarely speaks unnecessarily, and when he does, his words carry weight. He is patient, observant, and often appears almost philosophical about warfare. However, once battle begins, his demeanor transforms completely. A savage grin spreads across his face, his eyes burn with excitement, and he throws himself into combat with unmatched ferocity.
