GLM 5.2 doesn’t compare to opus 4.8 or gpt 5.5 at all, and I say this as someone who has around 4B tokens spent with it and $450+ in pay as you go

im building a cross model local first knowledge and memory store I called the system Akashic Aurora, its on Github. Basically I want to make it so that any work you do with any agentic Ai gets stored with a narrative spine that links what you did into a searchable narrative that spans multiple domains. it isn't finished but Claude said its been helpful for getting things done in its current state. It even helped me build a just in time context engine that supplies context and learnings from the knowledge store as it works. would anyone be interested in playing with this system and helping me make it better?

I tested Claude Opus 4.8 and GLM 5.2 Max using the same prompt. Claude was clearly a cut above. If GLM were completely free, it'd be a great option. But with pricing that's almost the same as Claude, I'd definitely choose Claude.
