Without a doubt, this was the heaviest catfish I've ever landed. 😳 From the moment it surfaced beside the boat, it was obvious we were looking at a true river giant. Its enormous frame and massive belly earned it one name—Godzilla. My friend Nicolas Thierry and I were drifting along a deep section of the river when the rod suddenly folded over. The fish wasted no time, powering off with incredible strength and making it clear we had hooked something extraordinary. After an intense battle, the legendary Godzilla catfish finally appeared beside the boat. We happened to be fishing near a floating restaurant where scraps occasionally end up in the water. Judging by the size of this monster, I wouldn't be surprised if it had its own reserved table there! 😅 Late summer is one of the best times to target giant catfish. As they prepare for the colder months ahead, they feed aggressively, creating some of the most exciting fishing opportunities of the year. What amazed me most was that this catfish already looked incredibly well-fed, yet it still couldn't resist one more easy meal.
