Placing the foam roller beneath the pelvis encourages a more neutral position, allowing the transverse abdominis (TA), your body’s natural internal corset, to switch on more effectively. As your TA gets stronger, it supports the spine, improves pelvic stability and gently draws the waist inward from the inside out. I’m using 1kg (2.2lb) ankle weights and 1kg hand weights, but you can absolutely perform this sequence using just your bodyweight and still feel an incredible burn. Move slowly, keep your ribs softly connected, maintain a neutral pelvis and exhale fully through each repetition to maximise deep core activation.
