This hit so hard. And now to see my son post it is devastating. I wanted so bad to keep my kids from what I went through as a child, but all I did was drag them with me. I hate myself for allowing this to happen. My kids didn't ask for this. 😞💔💔

i learned how to tell who was near me by recognizing peoples smells. As a child i was often locked in dark rooms, and screamed at or had things thrown at me. I was able to discern who was opening the door by the smell. My mom always smelled like vanilla, cinnamon, and home. My step dad smelled like beer, sweat, and dirt. My brother smelled like plastic, pancakes, and dirt. My sisters smelled like flowers, candy, and rubber. My grandma (as all grandmas do) smelled like cookies, perfume, and dogs (she had a poodle that was with her always)
