Today has been another dark day for our democracy. In Nyahururu where we had a rally, violence, served by goons accompanied by police has happened. Bullets were even fired…that’s enough proof that police were there!! In Kisumu, those goons couldn’t even wait for a church service to end, they were sent to attack our president IN CHURCH!! Who sent that precedence you might ask? It is the government, the day we saw them lob tear-gas in a church…so is the script writer the same???? Just the past week, we lost someone in Keumbu…due to goonism and the violence they caused. The videos we saw on the same, we still saw police! In uniforms! Purportedly ‘supervising’ those goons…and I’m wondering, if the state keeps saying these goons are not state sponsored, then why are state police ALWAYS with them. Why would I need to supervise you, if I’m not the one paying you!! Shame on you William Ruto!!!! To my fellow Kenyans: do not be silent. Do not normalize violence. Do not accept a country where public resources are allegedly used to intimidate citizens exercising their democratic rights. As the Swahili wahenga said, “Mkuki kwa nguruwe, kwa mwanadamu mchungu.” Today, those “mikuki” are no longer a proverb—we have seen them in Keumbu and in Kisumu. No leader should ever benefit from fear. Our democracy must be protected through peace, justice, accountability, and the rule of law. Kenya belongs to all of us, and every Kenyan has the right to participate in public life without intimidation or violence. #GENZBaddie #SisiNdioSifuna #RUTOMUSTGO
