Hey Rob., I turn 60 next year. I currently work as a contractor for a large corporation via a consulting firm. Can I cease my contact with my current consulting firm when I turn 60, start an account base pension from my Super and then a month or so later, join a different consulting company to start contracting again with this same large corporation? Is that legit? Would this process meet the condition of release? Thanks

Isn’t it the same thing for most that are relying on pensions and and or super. It is a retirement age set by government. Semantics.

The Centrelink age pension is certainly something one shouldn’t aspire to receive. A common reason why people say they want to receive the Centrelink pension is “I paid taxes all my life” hence they feel they are entitled to this. The fallacy with this mentality is that for most people, the Centrelink age pension isn’t going to support the living standards you were enjoying during your employment phase.

It used to be 60 for women and 65 for men. Now 67 for both
