@pahadi.education7: [ Ep - 10 ] Why structures collapse during earthquakes ? Answer -- Why do structures collapse during earthquakes ? The main reason is poor structural design. Buildings not engineered for seismic forces cannot safely resist shaking. Another cause is weak construction quality, including low-grade materials, improper concrete mixing, and poor workmanship. The soft story effect is also dangerous, where open ground floors create weak levels that fail during strong shaking. Lack of shear walls and proper bracing reduces a building’s ability to resist lateral earthquake forces. Finally, weak foundations or poor soil conditions can cause settlement, tilting, or liquefaction. Understanding these factors helps us design safer, stronger, and more earthquake-resistant structures that save lives. #pahadieducation7 #nepaliconstitution #foryou #civilengineering
