I work in networking. This is a valid test and anybody saying different don’t know what they’re talking about. But Cat8 feels like overkill for regular people who just stream shows or watch tv

If your provider gives you 1gb of speed the cat8 will give you that 1gb of speed no more than that.

hi, I work in Networking, cat8 is overkill for residential areas. the price difference is a lot and cat8 has heavy shielding so electrical that has been run doesn't affect it and also cat8 is for large amounts of Gbps but most homes only have 1 to 2 Gbps which cat6 handles just fine. 👍

why cat5? cat5e minimum. 6 recommended, 6e for high speed, and 7 for long distance. At least that's my take doing IT help desk for 14yrs.

interesting how 4.2 is almost 5 gigs but 937 isn't even close to 1 gig reference. cat8 has a lot of short falls at this time, if your building a new home don't waste time pulling wires that will eventually be outdated in a few years just pull conduit to the outlet boxes that way as technology changes you can change the wiring to match easily

It has nothing to do with the brand, if that grey cable was Ugreen cat 5 it will still perform the same. Althe higher the cat cabling the better connection lol
